How much does DMX cost? |
|
DMX costs just pennies a day.
Prices vary according to your cable operator. |
 |
Who programs DMX? |
|
DMX has assembled a team of the
music industry's most knowledgeable, experienced
and progressive programmers. Each member brings a
wealth of talent to the specific music format. |
 |
How often will I hear the same
songs? |
|
Song repetition differs for each
channel. On most channels it is unlikely that you
would hear the same song for weeks due to the
depth of the DMX music library, our skill at time
period rotation and our weekly updates. Only the
hottest songs with chart positions are repeated
several times a day. |
 |
How many songs are programmed on each
channel? |
|
Each channel has the capacity to access up to
6000 songs at any given time. The number of songs
on each CD would determine the total of songs
available on each channel in a given week. DMX
plays three to seven times the musical depth and
variety that a typical radio station would
produce in the same format (provided you could
find a radio station that plays the same format). |
 |
How often are the songs
updated? |
|
DMX introduces new songs and
albums to every channel on a weekly basis. |
 |
Do you have a program guide
for DMX? |
|
No. The programming on each
channel changes each week. You can select
channels using the channel guide. The DMX DJ will
tell you the title, artist, composer, album |
 |
Can I make suggestions about

And we've set up a toll-free line just for that
purpose. Call 1-800-57-ORBIT with your
suggestions, comments or ideas. We'll listen. Or,

How does DMX work? |
|
DMX signals are sent by satellite
from the DMX studio to special DMX equipment
located at your local cable system. That signal
is then sent through the cable wire to your home
where the DMX Tuner is installed to process the
DMX digital signal to your stereo. |
 |
What makes DMX digital
quality? |
|
DMX signals are transmitted
digitally, in other words, as a series of ones
and zeroes. Digital transmissions are far more
resistant to interference or noise and static
than conventional analog transmissions like AM
and FM radio. As digital transmission techniques
are used all the way from our studio to your
home, the music you receive is virtually
identical to the original CD recording. (In the
case of earlier, non-CD recordings, DMX will
deliver the highest quality available from the
best master.) |
 |
I have what I consider a pretty average
stereo system. Is it worth connecting to DMX? |
|
Absolutely! Regardless of the type of stereo
system you own, DMX's sound quality will be
dramatically better than the quality your system
currently produces from tapes, records, and FM
radio. All of these sources are analog signals
and are subject to compression, interference or
degradation. DMX sound is a digital signal that
resists the problems that can plague analog
signals. With DMX you'll experience our music in
the best fidelity and widest dynamic range your
system can produce. (Note: DMX will work with any
stereo equipment with auxiliary inputs.) |
