Echostar SRD-4000 Satellite Receiver These receivers do not have menus or on screen displays. They work by
pressing codes on the remote or codes that are displayed on the receiver. 1. If the satellite to be programmed is already stored in the wrong position, then it must be erased before it can be programmed. See Extra Functions section and follow the Erase A Satellite procedure. 2. Go to an active channel on the satellite next to the one to be programmed. 3. Press TUNING SELECT to bring up the dish tuning on the receiver. The light beside DISH on the receiver will be lit. If the DISH light will not come on then you may have a parental lock on. See How to Turning Off the Parental Lock. 4. If the format is the same on both satellites: Start tapping up arrow (east) or down arrow (west) depending on which direction the satellite your looking for is located until a different picture comes in. If the picture is correct, skip to Step 10. 5. If the format is different on the two satellites: Start tapping up arrow (east) or down arrow (west) depending on which direction the satellite your looking for is located just until the picture is gone. 6. Press TUNING SELECT one time to bring up polarity tuning mode. The light beside POLARITY on the receiver should light up. If the POLARITY light will not come on then you may need to change the feed type to C-Band Single Feed. See Extra Features. 7. Press and hold up arrow/down arrowS until a picture comes in, then tap up/down arrowS to get the picture as clear as possible. Make a note of the polarity number on the receiver. If the picture still does not come in, start over from Step 1 and select a different satellite to start from on step 2. 9. If the picture is in and it is correct, press TUNING SELECT to bring up the dish tuning on the receiver. The light beside DISH on the receiver should be lit again. 10. Press SAT and the
satellite name your looking for, (EX: SAT S 4).
The receiver will change channels from what it was on. Go back to an active
channel, using channel up/down

After the auto tuning is done, or if it does not auto tune, the satellite should be stored. [The receiver will display an E-1, which means the new satellite is stored in memory and should sound a tone]. Press CANCEL to exit the dish-tuning mode and then hit VIEW to verify that it stored it and that it is correct. 13. If the name is on the screen, but there is no picture. First, verify the channel. If the channel is OK, then press TUNING SELECT to select the polarity-tuning mode. Hold down up arrow until the picture starts to come in. Tap up arrow or down arrow until the picture is clear. When the picture is clear, press STORE again. 14. If it auto-tunes to a different satellite, then you must erase the satellite you just stored and then turn off the auto tuning.
