Turbo Internet
How
do I connect to the Internet?
There
are two ways to connect to the Internet using DirecPC.
- Double
clicking the Navigator icon
in the system tray will start the connect and login process to
your ISP.
- Right
mouse clicking on the Navigator icon in the system tray will
display the DirecPC Navigator menu. Select the Connect
option at the top of the menu to start the connect and login
process to your ISP.
How
do I configure Turbo Internet to dial the 10 digit number to my
ISP?
Depending
on where you live, your local telephone company may require 10
digit dialing. The following instructions describe how
to configure DirecPC Navigator to use 10 digit dialing.
- Right
mouse click on the Navigator icon in the system tray and
choose the Turbo Internet Properties.
- Select
the Dialup
tab.
- In the Phone
Number section, press the Properties... button.
- After
the "Dialing Properties" dialog appears, press the
button for Area Code Rules. (Note: If you
are running Windows 95 or Windows NT 4.0 without all the
latest service packs and updates, you may not have the
"Area Code Rules" button.)
- In
the Area Code Rules, choose to always dial the area code. Or
you could configure the rules so that only the area code
of your ISP is included when dialing.
- Press
the OK button to close the "Area Code
Rules" dialog. Then press the OK
button to close the "Dialing Properties" dialog. Last,
press the OK button to close the "Turbo
Internet Properties" dialog.
- If your
operating system does not include Area Code Rules, or you were
unable to locate the Area code rules button, please follow the
following procedure to configure Navigator for 10 digit
dialing.
- On
the Dialup tab on the Turbo Internet Property page,
locate the Number textbox that shows your ISP's
telephone number.
- Enter
the area code of your ISP before the ISP telephone number
in the Number textbox.
- Press
the OK button to close the "Turbo Internet
Properties".
