Unable to Login to My ISP

After Navigator successfully establishes a modem connection to your Internet Service Provider (ISP), it attempts to login to your ISP's Internet server. It does this differently depending on how your ISP is setup. Some ISPs require the use of a login script, user name, and password or various combinations of these. If Navigator is unable to login to the server, you should verify the following:

Is your password correct for your ISP ?

When you first start Navigator, it asks you to enter your password. It then saves this password and does not ask you again during subsequent login attempts. If you enter the password incorrectly, the login process will fail. You can reenter your password in the Protocol Settings property page. You must also ensure that you change your password in the Protocol Settings property page anytime you change your password for your ISP.

For example:

If you use your ISP-supplied registration software to change your password, Navigator has no way of knowing that you changed your password. Navigator will continue to use the password you last entered in the Protocols dialog. You must change the password in the Protocol Settings property page to match your new password.

Is your user name properly configured for your ISP ?

If you use your ISP-supplied registration software to change your user name, Navigator has no way of knowing that you changed your user name. Navigator will continue to use the user name you last entered in the Protocols dialog. You must change your user name in the Protocol Settings property page to match your new user name.

Is your login script present and correct for your ISP ?

Some ISPs require the use of a login script. If your ISP requires the use of a login script, you must contact your ISP and determine what your login script is, then configure the script using the Login Script property page.
