Internet - Dialup Settings
The
Dialup property page supports configuring the following settings:
Phone
Number
Enter
the area code and phone number of your ISP. Use the
Properties button to access dialing properties that enable you to
control how Windows formats and dials a phone number.
The dialing properties allow you to control features such as call
waiting, long distance access codes, credit card calls - and with
Windows 98 and Windows NT 4.0 (Service Pack 5), area code rules
such as 10 digit dialing.
Modem
Select
and configure the modem you want to use to connect to your ISP. Use
the Properties button to access the modem properties for the
selected modem.
Auto-Dial
Use
these settings to enable Auto-Dial so that Navigator will
automatically connect to your ISP when needed. For
example, when you launch a web browser, Navigator will
automatically start your Internet connection if you are not
already connected.
The
idle disconnect timeout controls how long Navigator will wait
after no Internet activity is detected before terminating your
connection and hanging up your modem. You will be
notified before your connection is terminated so that you can
override the disconnect. How you are notified depends
on your user notification
settings.
The
reconnect wait setting controls how long Navigator waits before
resuming Auto-Dial monitoring after your connection is terminated. A
short interval of 2 to 5 seconds is usually sufficient for this
setting.
