Use a pencil to mark the location of the top left outside
hole of the base plate (see diagram below) onto the brick

Set the mast aside and drill a 3 /8 -inch X 2 1 /2 -inch
hole where you made the pencil mark.

Drill a 3 /4 -inch X 2 1 /2 -inch hole where you made the
pilot hole.

Clean out the hole and insert a 3 /8 -16 double-expansion
anchor. The anchor should fit snugly, so you may have to
use a ham-mer to gently tap the anchor until it is flush
with the brick surface (see diagram below).

Install the mast onto the mounting surface using a 2 1 /4
-inch X 3 /8 -16 hex bolt (see diagram below). Tighten the
bolt enough to secure the base plate, but leave it loose
enough to enable you to adjust the base plate.

Verify that the mast is still plumb and adjust if
necessary.
11.
Mark the locations of the remaining four holes on the
mount-ing surface (see diagram below).

12.
Remove the base plate from the mounting surface.
13.
Drill four 3 /8 -inch X 2 1 /2 -inch holes where you made
the pen-cil marks.
14.
Drill four 3 /4 -inch X 2 1 /2 -inch holes where you made
the pilot holes.
15.
Clean out the holes and insert the 3 /8 -16
double-expansion anchors.
16.
Install the base plate using the five 2 1 /4 -inch X 3 /8
-16 hex bolts and 3 /8 -inch washers.
17.
Tighten the five hex bolts.
