SELECTING A MOUNTING OPTION
Note:
If you will be installing the antenna base plate and mast
using a mount-ing configuration other than those recommended
here, do so as follows:
1.
Install the base plate and mast.
2.
Verify that the mast is plumb (aligned vertically with a
bubble level).
3.
See section L.

INSTALLATION
PROCEDURE
DANGER
You can be seriously injured or killed if the
antenna comes into contact with electric power
lines. Verify that there are none nearby before
performing the following procedure.
CAUTION
Do not mount the antenna onto composite (also
called particleboard or fiberboard) surfaces unless
there is a wall stud or rafter located where you
will be installing the mounting hardware. Composite
materials are not strong enough to support the
antenna during strong winds and other violent
weather conditions.
1.
Locate a wall stud onto which you can install the
antenna base plate as shown at right. Wall studs can
most easily be found by looking for the line of
nails that shows where the siding is attached to the
house or by using a stud finder. Shim Stud 2-inch X
3 /8 -inch lag bolts (6 places) 3-inch X 3 /8 -inch
lag bolts (center holes)
