Newscast Newsgroups Properties

The Newsgroup property page enables you to decide which newsgroups to subscribe to. You can also search through the list of available newsgroups to locate newsgroups you are interested in.

Search

Allows you to search through the available newsgroups by entering any word of interest. Those newsgroups that contain the entered word will be displayed. You can subscribe and unsubscribe to newsgroups from the searched list.

Expand All

This expands all levels of the highlighted branch in the newsgroup tree hierarchy.

Subscribe Public

This subscribes the newsgroup in public mode. If a newsgroup is subscribed as public, anyone can see the name of the group and read the groups articles.

Subscribe Protected

This subscribes the newsgroup in protected mode. If a newsgroup is subscribed as protected, the password must be entered to see the name of the group and read the groups articles. To access the protected newsgroups from your newsreader, you must configure your newsreader to connect to the Newscast server using the configured Newscast password.

Unsubscribe

This unsubscribes the newsgroup. Once a newsgroup is unsubscribed, all stored articles for that group are removed from the Newscast database. In addition, articles are no longer received for that newsgroup.
