Newscast
- Newsgroup Import Properties
The
Newsgroup Import property page allows you to select a newsreader(s)
that can be used for subscribing to newsgroups. This
allows the user to subscribe to the newsgroups of interest in the
newsreader and just press the Import button to automatically
subscribe Newscast to these groups. This eases the two
step process of subscribing to newsgroups in Newscast and
configuring the newsreader. Note that after newsgroups
are subscribed to in the newsreader, you must use the Import
function to update the Newscast subscription list to start
receiving articles from these new groups.
Newsreader(s)

this option will overwrite the current Newscast subscription list
with the newsgroup list that is imported. If this option is not
enabled, only those imported groups that are not in the current
Newscast subscription list will be added (No newsgroups will be
removed).
Import
Pressing
this button will import the selected newsreader(s) subscription
list into the Newscast subscription list. This should be done
whenever new groups are added in the selected newsreader(s).
Import
File
This
is an advanced option that allows a user to specify the newsreader
configuration file that contains the subscription information.
Only those configuration files from the newsreaders mentioned
above are supported.
Send
List of Only the Subscribed Newsgroups to Newsreader
This
is an advanced option that allows the user to specify which
newsgroup list is sent to the newsreader. If enabled, only those
newsgroups that are currently in the Newscast subscription list
are sent. If not enabled, all available newsgroups are sent to the
newsreader. If you are using the Import function and want to
subscribe to groups in your newsreader, then this option should
not be enabled.
